About the position
Highly preferred location is Columbus, however remote work may be acceptable if you are able to get to Columbus 1-2 times a month. We're looking for a skilled DataStage ETL Developer to join our team and play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust data integration solutions that power our business intelligence and analytics platforms. As a DataStage Developer, you'll work closely with data architects, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality, scalable ETL processes that support enterprise data needs. Your expertise will help streamline data pipelines, improve performance, and ensure data accuracy across systems.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using IBM InfoSphere DataStage
• Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand and translate data requirements
• Create optimized and reusable DataStage jobs for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) across systems
• Perform data profiling, source-to-target mapping, and error handling within ETL workflows
• Support data warehouse development and ongoing enhancements across staging, integration, and reporting layers
• Conduct unit testing, peer code reviews, and support QA and UAT efforts
• Analyze and resolve ETL job failures, data quality issues, and performance bottlenecks
• Maintain technical documentation for ETL solutions, job scheduling, and data flow diagrams
• Participate in change management and production deployment processes
• Follow best practices for data governance, version control, and security
Requirements
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in ETL development, with a strong focus on IBM DataStage
• Proficient in SQL, data warehousing concepts, and relational database systems (e.g., DB2, Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server)
• Solid understanding of data modeling, source-to-target mappings, and ETL performance tuning
• Experience in banking, financial services, or other regulated industries
• Exposure to scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M, Autosys)
• Familiarity with metadata management, data quality tools, or cloud-based ETL platforms
• Understanding of data governance frameworks and regulatory compliance
• Experience integrating data from multiple structured and unstructured sources
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in a large-scale enterprise environment
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across technical and business teams
• Comfortable working in Agile or Waterfall delivery environments
