Position Summary
We are looking for a part-time Data Entry Specialist to work at our Minnetonka headquarters, located near Hopkins Crossroads/Hwy 394. The ideal candidate will have fluency in English and a working knowledge of Chinese (reading fluency preferred). This part-time position will comprise 20-25 hours per week, with flexible scheduling between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. As a Data Entry Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately entering data into our systems, preparing purchase orders, and performing other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter books and periodicals into our systems in multiple languages, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Learn and adhere to specific data entry guidelines necessary for our customer base, ensuring compliance with our quality standards.
- Utilize specialized tools developed by East View to facilitate foreign language data entry, improving efficiency and accuracy.
- Prepare purchase orders for entered products when requested, demonstrating organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Perform cover scans of important products to be added to our system/website, ensuring high-quality output.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by your supervisor, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Strong attention to detail and proof-reading skills, with a track record of accuracy in communications and technical details.
- Chinese reading and writing language skills (simplified and/or traditional), with fluency in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office products, with the ability to learn new software applications quickly.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Prior experience in academic research, library science, or a publishing work environment, demonstrating an understanding of the industry and relevant skills.
