About the Role: Customer Service Representative - Remote
We're seeking a skilled and compassionate Customer Service Representative to join our team at blithequark, working remotely from Michigan. As a Customer Service Representative, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service to our members, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and needs in a timely and professional manner. Key Responsibilities
- Handle daily member telephone calls, providing accurate and helpful information, directing members to the proper services needed, and resolving issues efficiently.
- Educate members on our health plans, services, and benefits, ensuring they have the knowledge to make informed decisions about their health care.
- Problem-solve and create linkages to the Medical Management Department for authorization of services, collaborating with internal teams to ensure seamless care.
- Assist providers with eligibility, benefit, and claims issues, serving as a liaison between our organization and healthcare providers.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and empathy in all interactions, ensuring a positive experience for members and providers alike.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Required Qualifications:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent certification.
- At least one (1) year of experience in a customer service related role, with direct contact with customers via telephone, email, chat, and/or face-to-face.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One (1) year of experience in a physician health care office environment or high-volume call center, preferably in a health care or insurance setting.
- Knowledge and experience with HMO, PPO, TPA, PHO, and Managed Care functions, which will be considered a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with health care operations and insurance principles, demonstrating an understanding of the industry and its complexities.
