About the position
This position is the strategic Human Resources business partner for the
Caribbean & Latin America (CALA) leadership team with responsibility for the
Human Resources function in alignment with strategic and operating plans and
priorities. The Chief Human Resources Officer, CALA is responsible for overall
people and organizational effectiveness for the division, with responsibility
and oversight of all aspects of Human Resources, including Talent Management,
Organizational Capability, Strategic HR Leadership, and HR Systems Management.
The CHRO, CALA partners with Corporate HR Centers of Excellence and Global HR
leaders on key initiatives and transformational efforts and is accountable to
the President, CALA for regional workforce and culture outcomes, and to
Corporate HR leadership for the execution of enterprise human capital strategies
in the region.
Responsibilities
• Provide strategic HR leadership to build business performance and
capability. Monitor and respond to emerging issues and threats to the
“health” of the organization.
• Build and develop a high performing Human Resources team to ensure that the
Division’s talent development and pipeline management achieves world-class
effectiveness.
• Lead the development of human resources strategies that support the
Division’s business priorities in alignment with the Company’s overall
strategic human resources plan.
• Ensure the achievement of human resource targets in support of the Division’s
balanced scorecard goals.
• Be a credible advocate for human capital management as well as a contributor
to the broader business agenda.
• Orchestrate change management, executive and organization development
activities to ensure successful business integration.
• Be a strong contributor to the Company’s HR agenda as a member of the Global
Human Resource team.
• Build effective relationships with all internal and external
stakeholders (e.g., owners / franchisees, General Managers). Ensure
balanced decision-making that balances the needs of the various stakeholder
groups and promotes the long-term viability of the business.
• Partner with the Company’s HR Centers of Expertise to deliver programs and
services in the areas of compensation, staffing, talent development,
training, performance management, and data management and reporting.
• Champion excellence in business ethics and integrity, social responsibility,
cross-cultural effectiveness, and associate engagement.
Requirements
• Significant experience as a senior human resources leader, including at
minimum, five years of demonstrated success as the HR leader on a senior team
(i.e., a business unit/division or major corporate staff function).
• Previous experience as a member of a senior executive or regional leadership
team, with demonstrated success operating in complex, matrixed environments
and across both corporate and field roles..
• Experience leading and managing large-scale transformational initiatives,
including organizational change, leadership transitions, and enterprise HR
program implementation.
• Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and lead effectively
across diverse national, cultural, and business contexts.
• Spanish language proficiency
Nice-to-haves
• A combination of HR generalist and specialist experience is strongly
preferred.
• Exposure to markets and HR management outside the United States. Prior
experience living abroad is a plus.
• Experience in leading organizational change and significant change management
initiatives.
