Chesapeake Climate Control is seeking a skilled and detail-driven HVAC Estimator to support both our residential and commercial divisions. This role is ideal for someone who can confidently navigate a wide range of project types—from residential system replacements and new construction to complex commercial installations.
You will play a critical role in driving profitable growth by producing accurate, competitive estimates and collaborating across teams from initial concept through project execution.

What You’ll Do
As our Estimator, you’ll be responsible for building accurate, strategic bids across both residential and commercial HVAC projects:
- Prepare detailed, accurate estimates using industry software and takeoff tools
- Review and interpret residential plans, commercial blueprints, and specifications
- Develop complete bid packages including scope, pricing, and supporting documentation
- Collaborate with project managers, field teams, and clients to align scope and budgets
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and other trades
- Perform value engineering to optimize cost, efficiency, and system performance
- Maintain and update pricing databases, labor rates, and vendor relationships
- Support pre-construction planning and project handoff to operations
- Stay current with local codes, energy standards, and HVAC best practices

Requirements
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone who can operate confidently across both residential and commercial environments:
- 2–5+ years of HVAC estimating experience (residential, commercial, or both)
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, equipment, and installation methods
- Experience with estimating tools (FastEST, Bluebeam, Trimble, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Ability to read and interpret both residential plans and commercial construction documents
- Experience working with vendors, subcontractors, and pricing negotiations
- Knowledge of load calculations, system sizing, and equipment selection (preferred)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously

- Familiarity with new construction, retrofits, and service replacements
- Understanding of permitting requirements in DE/MD (or similar regions)
- Exposure to design-build or fast-paced construction environments

Salary Description
