Intern: Help Build the First Offline Mental Health Platform
Serenity Station | Remote | 10-15 hrs/week | Unpaid
Serenity Station is an offline-first mental health platform designed for places most apps can't reach—psych wards, jails, residential treatment, rural or underdeveloped communities, and ERs where patients wait 10+ hours with no support.
I'm a solo founder building this from lived experience. I've been inside the system—psych holds, residential treatment, the gaps in care no one talks about. I'm building what I wish existed.
I'm looking for one mission-driven intern to help me get this across the finish line.
What you'll do:
• Curate and prepare therapeutic content (PDFs, videos, audio) for deployment in restricted environments
• Organize and compress media files for offline access
• Support grant applications and funding outreach
• Help plan the app launch and build excitement
• Recruit and manage a list of beta testers
• Assist with founder-led sales outreach
• Handle admin tasks like inbox management and scheduling
Every file you prepare could end up on a tablet in a psych ward or a jail, helping someone get through their hardest day.
Who we're looking for:
• You have lived experience with mental health challenges or the justice system
• You're a student or early-career professional who wants real startup experience
• You care about mental health access, health equity, or tech for good
• You're organized, reliable, and don't need hand-holding
• You're excited to learn how an early-stage startup operates
What you'll get:
• Direct mentorship from a founder
• Experience building a behavioral health product from the ground up
• Exposure to fundraising, pilot partnerships, and go-to-market strategy
• A strong letter of recommendation
• Potential for a paid role as funding allows
