Key Responsibilities Provide exceptional customer service by greeting, qualifying, recommending, and closing sales with customers in your department, ensuring a seamless and personalized shopping experience. Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of products and services offered by blithequark, utilizing our tools and resources to stay up-to-date on the latest offerings and trends. Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring that they are clean, shop-able, and safe for both customers and employees. Work collaboratively with your Department Supervisor and other associates to achieve sales goals, share knowledge, and drive business growth. Identify and capitalize on sales opportunities, providing solutions and making recommendations to customers to drive project sales and increase average ticket sales. Ensure a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards, completing specified safety training, and reporting any hazards or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of skills, knowledge, and experience, including: 1-2 years of experience in customer-facing sales or service roles, preferably in a retail environment. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, employees, and management. Strong product knowledge and the ability to learn and adapt to new products and services. Basic math skills and the ability to accurately process transactions and handle customer payments. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and responsibilities while maintaining a high level of customer service. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in a home improvement or similar industry. Knowledge of store departments, including Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental. Previous experience with sales, customer service, or retail management software and systems. Certifications or training in customer service, sales, or a related field.
